About

Hillside Hermitage was first built in the hills of central Sri Lanka, and is now relocated to the mountain forests of Slovenia. It is a registered charity which supports a group of solitary monastics spread out across Europe, and who are following the Early Buddhist Suttas and Ajahn Nyanamoli’s teachings. They live independently, apart from the mainstream traditions.

The original hermitage and now the Association was founded by Ajahn Nyanamoli Thero who has received his Upasampada ordination in the Thai Forest Meditation Tradition and has been living the monastic life since 2005.

The following pages contain the teachings of Ajahn Nyanamoli and his disciples, namely the Dhamma talks, writings and YouTube videos, on meditation and various practical aspects of the Buddha’s Teaching.
